The Organisation municipale de sécurité civile of the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion (OMSC) met again late this afternoon to review the situation related to rising water levels.
The Service des travaux publics is currently completing the installation of pumps to prevent any backflow in the stormwater system. This work is expected to be completed this evening.
A dike was installed yesterday at the end of Hôtel-de-Ville Street. Based on current water level estimates, no additional installations are required at this time.
The Service de sécurité incendie continues close monitoring by conducting patrols in higher-risk areas. The majority of riverside residents considered most at risk have been contacted. At this time, the situation across the territory of Vaudreuil-Dorion is under control.
According to the latest data from the Centre d’expertise hydrique du Québec (MELCCFP), the water level of Lake of Two Mountains is expected to reach 23.73 m today, 23.77 m tomorrow, and 23.84 m on Sunday. For comparison, levels reached 24.33 m in 2023, 24.63 m in 2019, and 24.66 m in 2017. For more details, consult the website of the Centre d’expertise hydrique du Québec.

Please note that this tool does not take into account mitigation measures implemented by the City, such as dikes and water-filled barriers. The data presented comes from gauging stations located in the main waterways of the metropolitan archipelago and is updated in near real time. Forecasts covering a 72-hour horizon are also provided and updated every six hours. These forecasts involve a degree of uncertainty and are provided for informational purposes only.
The City will make self-serve sandbagging sites available to residents starting tomorrow. Filling stations will be set up; residents must bring their own shovel.
Once the sites are ready, a notice will be sent via Espace citoyen, and the information will also be available on the City’s website and Facebook page.
